The name is Gavin; some people call me Gav, but I don’t really care. I’m eighteen years old and a senior at Ridgeway Peaks; this is my second year here, unfortunately, but thankfully my last. I cannot wait for the end of the year, truth be told. Then again, who doesn’t feel that way in this prison? All I do in my spare time is writing short stories, read, and draw. I also thoroughly enjoy painting and often end up coming to class with paint all over my hands. The arts are just where I shine. I’m also mathematically inclined, it’s my second favorite subject behind English (I love poetry), and the history classes as well as the sciences are all a breeze to me. It’s safe to say my GPA is somewhere near a 4.0, if not that then only slightly below it. My dad tells me that smarts are in our genes, but I can only agree to a certain extent with him on that.
I don’t talk to everyone I meet because I’m simply not interested. If you strike me as someone entertaining, then yeah, I’ll strike up a conversation of some sort but I’ve never been known to be a social butterfly. I prefer to keep to myself, but sometimes company, if of the relaxed type, is definitely welcomed. I don’t put up with bull shit, so don’t start it and I won’t. I’m protective over my younger brother, too, so don’t fuck with him either.
I don’t get along with my dad and can’t imagine that I ever will. He sent me here because I was caught shoplifting several times and busted for grand larceny, and not to mention he’s walked in on me having a threesome with a guy and a girl at the same time. My dad’s name is Jonah and he’s basically my only family apart from my younger brother, James, who I love dearly. I really wish he didn’t get caught up in this awful place.
