There was nothing particularly special about James’ day that put him in such a grand mood, but then again, was there ever? It seemed like all he needed to be put in a good mood was a re-run of Adventure Time and some apple juice. The littlest of things appeased him, and he just didn't have that much to be unhappy about. So far he was having a great start of the year. School had its downfalls, no doubt, but he kept to himself for the most part and just did what he needed to do. And then there were Friday nights like such, where he just wandered the streets of the town he'd grown to be so familiar with. He usually took his bike when he went about the neighborhoods, but today he walked, his hands in his pockets and mind elsewhere. Jamie had a sort of blank look in his eyes as he strolled along, his mind racing from topic to topic; there was so much to think about, but all the same, so little. Thus far no drama had been introduced into his life, but it was only the beginning of fall, so there was plenty of time for that. Not that he was a dramatic person per se, but in town such as this, it was difficult to be free from it, even when you were as socially detached as he was.
When it came to having friends and enemies, James definitely acknowledged them and withheld them, but at the end of the day – or even during it, really – his mind was so far gone that he didn’t really… care. Unless of course something was unusually wrong. As he walked through the streets of Cody he kept his eyes on the ground in front of him, looking up occasionally just to note where he was and which direction he needed to go next. Truthfully, he could probably walk the place blind folded, but there would likely not be a time he ever needed to do that. A smile crossed his face as he passed by his friend’s house, considering stopping, but he decided against it ultimately because he knew there was a chance Matthias wasn’t around anyways. Besides, he was a little too lost in his own thoughts and wound up at the end of the street by the time the idea crossed his mind. He didn’t actually know his destination, usually he just walked until he couldn’t anymore and went back home. His mother often worried about him when he did this, but he always assured her the same thing: he would be fine. There was nothing about this town that really alarmed him, so walking around at night didn’t seem like an issue in the least.
The neighborhood park came to sight and James stopped only to look at it, and then around himself as he thought over the options. He could either go home and play with his cats, or go lie in the grass and enjoy the warmish night weather. Not after long, he decided on going to the grass because the stars were shining and it just seemed like more fun. He didn’t want to be around his family at the moment, anyways. All they had to offer for him at the moment was pressuring college talk and he just didn’t care to hear it. He had the rest of his year to worry about first – and truthfully, the importance of college was on the back of his mind. He walked into the grass until he found a clean spot, lying himself down under a tree with his head on a root. A little girlish part of him worried that ants or spiders would find their way on his body but he stopped thinking about it in just a few moments, his legs stretched out across the grass and eyes focused on the leaves above him. What a beautiful night.

Matthias Damien Tucker was not fond of Cody, Wyoming. He never had been and probably never would be. He didn't like that there was no hustle and bustle and he didn't like the fact that there was nowhere to fucking shop. Mattie couldn't go to the mall and party because there was no mall. He had to go clear out of town in order to do some proper clothes shopping and he didn't have the money for gas at this present time... And the Tucker parents weren't giving him any money until he brought his grades up. It was a pain in the ass. He'd been looking for a job but in a small town like Cody, it was hard for an adult to find a job, much less a teenager such as Matthias Tucker. He just didn't like Cody in the least, and he wanted to get out of here as fast as possible. For now, he was stuck here unless his parents decided to move away... Which wasn't happening any time soon. They were too worried about Jacob, who was now living with Alexa Ross... So he wasn't sure why the Tucker parents were so worried about his twin, but that was their deal, not his. Matthias was currently wandering around Cody being a general freak. He was running around, dancing and singing to Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO. He was very fond of that band and he could listen to them all day long. Mattie's parents weren't particularly fond of them but it was no worse than Jacob's depressing shit. At least Mattie's music was happy. Jake's music sucked and Matthias was kind of glad the kid was out of the house, so that he didn't have to listen to that bullshit anymore. He could just party to his music because Kieran didn't stick around home long enough to listen to music.... Neither did Matthias, but Kieran and Mattie were barely at the house at the same time. If Matthias knew Kieran was going to a certain party, he tried to avoid it... If Kieran knew Matthias was going to a party, Kieran avoided it. In fact, Matthias and Kieran just kind of avoided each other. That was just fine with Mattie... Now if only Kieran would leave Jacob alone. Matthias found himself at the park and he smiled. He liked the park; he likes the old slide that looked like it was going to fall apart, and he liked the swings. Mostly he just liked jumping out of the swings and seeing how far he could get. Matthias just loved the park and even though it wasn't that exciting to most people, it was probably the most exciting thing in Cody when there wasn't a party going on, like tonight. He went down the slide a couple times before he saw a familiar figure in the distance: James Rune, Mattie's bestest friend ever. He squealed in delight and ran over as soon as James plopped down. He was super quiet as he snuck up on his best friend. As soon as he got up to James, he sat himself right on top of James. Mattie looked down and said, "Hiiii there Jamesie. How was your day?" Mattie grinned, refusing to get off unless he was pushed off. James would have to get him off all by himself if he wanted Matthias off of him. word count ;; 571 ! tagged ;; james rune ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; a variety of party songs ! notes ;; oh mattie and james !
