For the first time in a long while, Ryan had a smooth morning. His uncle was away because of a family emergency on the other side of the country, and Evan was left in charge. Most kids would probably be hesitant to an older sibling being there to boss them around and take advantage of the situation, but Evan wasn’t like that –despite what an outsider might have guessed. He came off as a jock, rough type, but he was probably the most timid and, weirdly enough, nurturing people out there. Ryan was incredibly grateful to have him around, mostly because he never failed to make sure he was alright, even if he was beat up himself. This morning he woke Ryan up with a little shake about thirty minutes before school; had some breakfast ready and then they took off in the jeep like every other morning. Usually they’d make it out after a few minutes and get something on the way to school from a drive thru, which he didn’t mind but Hardee’s biscuits got old after a while. Still, it was better than nothing. He departed with his brother in the morning and agreed to meet at the courtyard in the afternoon, though he knew there was a chance he’d be going home with Jason. When his uncle was out of town, which wasn’t often, he practically lived over there because there was no curfew he had to abide. Then again, he did often convince him to let him stay over on weekends because his uncle didn’t like having him there any more than he liked being there. The school day went alright, but Ryan somehow wound up with a detention on Monday. Great. He didn’t even really know why teachers hated him so much, but it wasn’t a mystery to anyone other than him. He was loud, obnoxious and even a little rude – not that he realized it, of course. He was still funny all the while, at least to his fellow class mates. His teachers weren’t so generous in thoughts about him, and for good reason. At the end of the day he trudged out to the courtyard, pissed off to a little of an extent but the moment the warm, fall air hit him, he felt just a little better. It also reminded him that he was free for the weekend, and that alone cheered him up. Ryan sat on a bench in the courtyard, dropping his bag to his feet and kicking it under him as he lazily pulled out his phone to check his text messages. Nothing from Evan yet. Was he still in class? He looked around, a clueless expression on his face and then he checked the rest of his phone, grimacing when he saw he had nine missed calls from his uncle. Nine? During school? What the fuck was he thinking? He rolled his eyes and stuck the cellular device back in his pocket, exhaling and looking at the trees as he waited for something. WORD COUNT: 000 TAGGED: jason! Jason was never really excited for school, in fact, he didn’t even understand why it had to be five days a week. Was it really that necessary? Why couldn’t it be like… 3 or 2? Did it really have to take up a majority of his life? He liked interacting with everyone, but the fact that he had to attend the same classes all the time was just a little annoying and repetitive. Everything that was being lectured was so easy too, at least to him, even if it wasn’t, it was still annoying. He didn’t complain though, he did what he had to, as always. He didn’t have baseball practice, which saddened him because he loved it when he did, it was his favorite sport and any excuse to play it satisfied him.
So far his day was pretty great, no surprise tests and just good conversations all around. He was just glad that it was finally Friday, which meant he had the entire weekend ahead of him filled with endless possibilities. He had no definite plans, but he always made his free days worth wild, especially since he usually spent them with his best friend and heterosexual life mate, Ryan. They always did a little bit of everything, which definitely worked for Jason, considering he didn’t like staying in one place for too long.
Jason knew Ryan had detention that day, so he went to go return some video games they rented and rent some new ones in the mean time. He had gotten carried away and ended up talking to the store clerk for almost an hour about how to pass a level on Assassins Creed. He excused himself when he realized how much time had passed and headed out the store with his new batch of rented video games. He threw them in the back seat as he hopped into his car and headed back towards the school. He wasn’t sure what time Ryan was going to be let out but when he arrived, Ryan was on the bench in the court yard and Jason smiled instantly. He honked his horn twice and rolled down the passenger side window, ”Hey sexy, how much for the night?” he joked and unlocked the passenger door for Ryan to hop on in.

About ten minutes more passed and Ryan was growing irritated with his brother; where the hell was he? He checked his phone time after time, and it wasn't for another five before he got a text that read only, 'forgot about u. get another ride.' What the fuck? He wasn't even going to come get him? Furrowing his eyebrows, he figured he might as well start walking. Ryan shoved his phone back in his pocket and stood up, reaching under the bench and picking up his backpack. He wasn’t necessarily mad at Evan, but he was definitely confused to as to what could be more important than him. Probably sex. He knew his brother better than anyone, and it wouldn’t surprise him in the least if he were already trying to pick up girls, or as he recently discovered… boys. Ryan had walked in on something he really didn’t want to see, and seen the other side. He was well aware that gay people existed, but he’d never seen anything like that before – and he felt… weird about it. He wasn’t disgusted, well, he was because it was his brother – but he felt strange, all in all. He was almost to the curb of the bus loop when a familiar car rolled up, and a grin spread wide across his face. Ryan popped the door open wider and hopped in, closing it and leaning in the middle, his face close to Jason’s. “Baby, you’re a regular. You already know that. You just wanna hear my voice, don’t you?” He joked, winking at him and giving his friend a little nudge before he settled into his seat and buckled up, turning slightly so he was facing him but he was still secure in his seat. “Guess what, man?” He said excitedly, bouncing a little as he rolled the window down. “Lucifer’s taken off. I’m free for the whole weekend,” Ryan told him with a grin wider than the Cheshire cat’s. “No curfew, no nothin’,” he added, relaxing into the back of his seat. WORD COUNT: 342 TAGGED: jason! Jason was glad that Ryan was still around, if he wouldn’t have been there, he could have easily just called him, but this was just easier and more convenient. Plus, Ryan was going to end up at his place later anyways, so why not save him some time? He gripped his steering wheel with his left hand as he looked out the passenger’s side window at Ryan as he walked towards Jason’s car. He had to stop himself from locking the door, just to mess with him, but he refrained. He smiled lightly when Ryan got into the car and kept his eyes on him, raising both eyebrows, chuckling a bit at Ryan’s words. ”Ah, you know what the sound of your voice does to me,” he faked getting the chills. He loved the friendship he had with Ryan, they were just so comfortable with one another, it never felt necessarily weird whenever they got too close. It was almost natural, plus they knew the other was just kidding around.
”hmm?” he asked as he reached into his backseat and grabbed the bag of newly rented video games, tossing them into Ryan’s lap gently. ”Oh yeah? Sweet! You can help me beat these games I just rented,” he smiled wide, ”Allnighters and junk food?” he chuckled. He liked things better when Ryan’s uncle wasn’t around; the guy was just such an asshole, to everyone, especially Ryan. It was one of the main reasons why Jason loved having Ryan over or hanging out with him. ”I think we’re going to have the house to ourselves too, my dad’s out of town again,” he shrugged as he started to drive. ”Tell me now if you want me to go through a drive thru, because I’m not driving later, you know once I get my comfy clothes on, I don’t leave the house,” he said looking over at Ryan for a split second, before putting his eyes back on the road. ”How was detention by the way? Was it totally like the breakfast club makes it seem?” he joked.
