It didn’t seem to matter where you were or what school you went to, they were all the same. Crowds of teenagers separated off into their own little social groups, filling any available space there was. The court yard, the halls, sets of tables situated outside. There was rarely a silent moment with everyone practically shouting out their business with little care in the world. Nearly every single teenager would complain about spending time at Cody High. Poppy was no different really. She hated dragging herself to classes to listen to boring stuff that she really didn’t understand. School had its perks though. Poppy loved the hustle and bustle of things. The noise, being surrounded by her friends and people her own age, the lively atmosphere. Growing up as an only child with two of the most overprotective parents ever, Poppy latched onto any opportunity she had to be social. Really, she was just lucky they hadn’t sent her off to some overpriced boarding school.
The bell to signal that lunch was over rang throughout the school sounding more like a doomed siren than a bell to Poppy. She let out a groan as her friends started collecting their things in preparation for their end of the day English class. She hated all classes in all honesty. Academics certainly weren’t her thing, she hated exercise so gym class was always draining and she wasn’t great at much else. Cheerleading was probably the only thing she genuinely enjoyed and she suspected that was because she was so small that people could throw her around with ease. No effort on her behalf required. ”Can we just skip?” she asked one of her friends, catching her by the sleeve and looking up at her with puppy dog eyes. She wasn’t one to break rules all that often but when it came to her responsibilities at school Poppy would rather just not go rather than get another detention for not completing an assignment. Her pleas didn’t seem to do her any good though as her friends rushed off to class, leaving her alone in the court yard.
It always felt odd when she was alone. Poppy was always at the centre of something. She was bubbly, talkative and craved constant social interaction. It was rare to find herself on her own. Her friendly nature made it easy for her to spark up conversation with just about anyone. And if they didn’t want to speak to her? Well, she usually didn’t even notice and just kept on talking. As the crowds around her dispersed to their own classes the pretty brunette looked around. There were a few students left behind, all busying themselves with textbooks or a conversation. Groaning again, Poppy slid off the table top she’d been lounging on and onto the seat below her. They could all study but she sure as hell wasn’t going to. Rummaging around in her handbag she pulled her phone out and began flipping through the dozens of text messages that had accumulated during the day.

Why did everyone hate school so much? Reilly wasn't quite sure on this fact. Reilly Morgan O'Keefe loved school. He loved the hustle and bustle. He loved meeting new people and most of all, he really just liked pissing off his teachers, even though his parents didn't like that much. He had no problems with school. Sure he didn't get the best of grades, but he always passed somehow. The teachers in Mullingar had liked him enough so they passed him... Either that or they hated him so bad that they passed him, so that they would NEVER see him again. Either way, he always earned passing grades. Well today was a new start in America. They'd moved to a small town here in Cody, Wyoming to be with his grandmother, who was dying. He wasn't having the best time with that news... But Reilly was trying really hard to stay strong. He hadn't even seen her in the hospital yet because he wasn't sure if he could handle it. The teachers here didn't like him and sometimes they gave him a second look when they looked at him. Of course they did. He had his twin brother, Morgan, running around that was identical to him. Morgan was quite opposite of Reilly though. Morgan was serious and focused on his school work. They both had ADHD, Tourettes, and Dyslexia, but Morgan took his medication for it so that nobody knew about any of his. Reilly didn't take any medication. He flat out refused. Finally the bell for lunch rang and Reilly sat with his freshman brother, Aedan, because he couldn't find Morgan anywhere. Morgan always easily made new friends. Reilly, Aedan, and Claire on the other hand, had a harder time. Aedan was too shy and Claire just thought herself above everybody but Morgan. So Claire was probably with Morgan. So far Reilly didn't mind the school but it was a lot smaller than he was hoping. Everybody seemed to know everybody and for him, it was just kind of odd. There wasn't as many people to meet. The bell rang again, signifying the end of lunch and Reilly sighed. He wasn't sure if he really wanted to go to math. He was not fond of math at all so he asked if Aedan wanted to ditch with him, but of course, it was a no. Reilly was the only one man enough to ditch even though the O'Keefe parents couldn't care less if their kids didn't go to class, so long as they passed their classes. Reilly waved goodbye to Aedan and then went and sat in the courtyard, being generally hyper and annoying. He pulled his yoyo out and started messing around with that. Reilly was bored shitless and everyone around here was just sitting and studying like normal, boring ass people. Reilly saw a girl on her phone and decided she'd probably be someone that would talk to him. He slid out of his seat and walked over to her, waving a whole bunch, and bouncing on the balls of his feet. He spoke in a thick, Irish accent, "Hi hi hi, I'm Reilly.... Reilly O'Keefe and I'm bored as fuck so I think you should talk to me so I'm entertained!" He gave her a wide, mischievous grin before sitting across from her. word count ;; 559 ! tagged ;; poppy belmont ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; one direction ! notes ;; sorry this took so long !
