raindrops quietly fell on top of the roof of jacob black's home. the familiarity of the rain on his roof was just so soothing to him and it helped it him sleep a lot easier. not that he needed helped with that seeing as katherine was there with him. it was like when she wasn't there with him in his bed, sleeping so quietly and looking like an angel, he couldn't sleep. he always worried about his imprint whenever she wasn't there with him he was always scared something would hurt her, especially with all of these damned vampires around and her living in forks. but she was here now and his heart was at ease. his fingers walked over her curves, memorizing every little pattern on her soft body and every freckle he found. she continued to sleep soundly though, not even moving an inch. jacob smiled softly at her. she was such a heavy sleeper that a bomb probably wouldn't even wake her up. in the background, her itouch played softly as it switched to another song. her taste in music was exactly like his, something he discovered the first time she spent the night at his house. katherine liked to listen to music as she went to sleep, something about it helping her dream happier dreams or something like that. he hadn't protested and he still didn't. he himself liked to listen to music when he went to sleep, but mostly because he couldn't sleep in silence. jacob hated every little creak or movement of a house at night and it made him paranoid if he did have to sleep in silence. that is if he ever even slept at all. sometimes his thoughts were the loudest noise in the room and sometimes they weren't good thoughts.
jacob has officially owned his own home for a few weeks now and he loved it. ever since sue clearwater had moved into his old house to help take care of billy who was probably on his last leg and rachel had moved into his old room until she could get her life sorted out, he just couldn't live there anymore. there were too many painful memories for him to deal with and he was too old and way too big to sleep on the tiny sofa for much longer. so he had gotten a job at a garage and he saved up every dime he could get his hands on until he finally had enough to pay rent. everything felt so surreal to him. he wasn't a kid anymore. he had grown up a lot over the years he had stayed in alaska and he felt like a man now. the homecoming and housewarming party that had been wrapped up into one huge party had been put together by katherine. she invited everyone, even bella who she detested with every fiber of her being, but she never showed up. that had hurt jacob badly to think his own best friend, his ex-best friend at this point, didn't even want to welcome him home. but katherine had helped him through that to, like she had helped him through everything else. just her being there had saved him from himself. he had been on the verge of suicide when he had met katherine. she had placed his heart back together and then took it for herself. now it was her's and he intended for her to keep it for forever.
jacob put his face into her perfect brown curls and took a deep breath. she smelt like vanilla, cocoanut, peaches and strawberries. the perfect combination in his opinion. jacob smiled as he she stirred a little bit with a small groan. he pulled her her closer to his bare chest and kissed her shoulder. he looked at the clock to see that it was only two in the morning. "good morning beautiful." he said in his husky voice as he wrapped his strong arms around her tiny frame. he put his face in the crook of her neck and kissed her before grinning childishly.
