Aaron Jesse Connors did not want to wake up his sleeping little angel. Wyatt was not a morning person and Aaron didn't want to wake him up. It didn't help that he hated leaving Wyatt at the daycare, but his dad was a dick and wouldn't watch the little boy. It didn't help that Aaron wasn't supposed to tell anybody that Wyatt was his. If anybody asked, Wyatt was his 'little brother'. He hated that. Why couldn't he just say straight up that Wyatt was his son? Being a teen parent wasn't that big a deal. There were lots of them and Aaron was still upset that he had to hide the fact that Wyatt was his son. Aaron touched his son's forehead lightly and whispered,
"Wyatt, son. Wake up buddy. We have to wake up." He shook his son's shoulder lightly and finally the boy opened his blue eyes. Wyatt had gotten his momma's eyes... But everything else looked like Aaron. Aaron was okay with that, considering he didn't need any reminders of his ex girlfriend, who wanted nothing to do with Wyatt.
Wyatt sat up and rubbed his eyes and Aaron checked the time. They needed to hurry a hell of a lot faster if Aaron was going to get to class on time. He got Wyatt dressed in a green t-shirt and overalls. Then he put the kid's Ninjago shoes on and put his sweater over the top of his head. It was a little bit chilly this morning, as it usually was in Wyoming. Finally, Wyatt was ready and Aaron took his son's hand as he swung his backpack over his shoulder. He got the child in the middle seat of his two door Toyota Tundra. Wyatt gave him a grin and said in his shrill child like voice,
"I get to see Kevin today! Right daddy?" Aaron couldn't help but smile and reply,
"Yes, Wyatt. You get to see Kevin. Just try not to get in a biting fight today, yeah?" Wyatt frowned and gave Aaron a pouty face,
"He starts it, all the time!" Aaron laughed and then played peacemaker,
"I know son... Just try for me okay?" He finally pulled into the daycare and got his son out.
He dropped him off and Wyatt didn't even say goodbye before he ran off to find Kevin. Aaron paid the daycare people the month's payment and then headed out, racing to school. Of course, Aaron Connors was late to class. He sat down quietly and the teacher gave him a stern look. Aaron didn't even offer an excuse because unless he told them that he had to drop off his son, there would be no excuse good enough for this strict teacher. It was his math class and he wasn't fond of it, but he tried his best. He had to do his best for Wyatt's sake. Wyatt was going to grow up happy if it was the last thing Aaron did. Aaron couldn't care less about anybody else, so long as Wyatt was happy. He did know that Wyatt would need a mommy eventually, but right now, Aaron wasn't worried about that. He was just worried about having a suitable plan for his career so that Wyatt would have a steady income.
Right now, Aaron was working under the local mechanic. It was really luck on his part because he knew teenagers didn't normally get good jobs... But he had a paycheck, so he could pay for Wyatt's stuff. He had a solid income but this job wasn't going to last forever. He had to get a scholarship at the college so that he could get an education and really get a solid income for Wyatt. Aaron wanted to be a doctor, which was why he tried so hard to do well in class, even though he wasn't the smartest kid ever. He had to get top grades and he spent a lot of time studying, but it was all for Wyatt. If it weren't for Wyatt, Aaron would probably be some dumbass kid still. Sometimes, he still was. He had fun sometimes when he could convince his sister to babysit... Or anybody really. Aaron didn't like to leave Wyatt with his sister because she was a bitch. Finally, school was over, and Aaron raced over to the daycare, just wanting to see his boy.
It took some time to pry Wyatt away from his friends, especially Kevin. Aaron carried his son out and they went home. He quickly got his homework done, and fed his son a sandwich. Then he grabbed some snacks, two water bottles, and a juice box. Aaron looked at his dad, and said,
"We're going to the park. Wyatt needs to get out." His dad just replied with,
"Remember. He's your brother. Not your kid." Aaron rolled his eyes but grabbed his son and they walked to the park. He didn't feel the need to drive when the air was warm. Wyatt preferred to walk anyways. Aaron held his hand until they got to the park and then they just kind of walked around for a bit. Finally, Aaron got sick of walking around and went into some clearing, seeing a girl there with a little girl that looked
about Wyatt's age. Wyatt made a face that they were going to talk to
girls. Wyatt looked at his daddy and said,
"Daddy, do we have to talk to the girls?" Aaron half smiled and said,
"You'll be hopping at the chance to talk to girls before long. I don't know what you got against girls anyways." Wyatt grinned and said,
"They've got cooties, and you're gonna get 'em too daddy!" Aaron shook his head, laughing, before he walked over to the girl teenager. He gave a half smile and hoped that maybe she didn't recognize him as the dick jock from school... Because at school, he was kind of a dick. He was just holding up a front so that people didn't guess he was a father.
